Garnet sand is a common chemical inert nonmetallic mineral in natural environment. Garnet as a kind of natural abrasive, because of its hardness, high specific gravity, chemical properties and durability become the ideal blasting media on the market. It has the characteristics of non-toxic, low dust, no pollution which is often used as a sandblasting abrasive. Common uses have hardware sandblasting and surface cleaning. Garnet for blasting
Garnet abrasive sand is in the most potential and widely used abrasive field, because it is used in the industries that are closely related to the production, such as ship hull, bridges, pipes, steel structures sandblasting treatment. Garnet has a large sandblasting area per unit time, less sand consumption, and lower sandblasting costs.
Its hardness can reach 8 mohs with long service life, can be cleaned on the metal surface to produce ideal angular rough surface, increase the surface area of the metal, improve the bonding force of the interface, so that the adhesion of the corrosion protection coating and the metal surface is significantly enhanced, so as to improve the bonding performance of the coating and the metal surface.
High density with stronger impact force, can better clean the metal surface. Garnet has sharp edges and corners, reasonable particle size distribution, and less dust. It can effectively go deep into holes and uneven parts for cleaning, and completely remove scale, rust, soluble salt and other dirt.
